Burlington, VT – October 7, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Vermont received 250 housing choice vouchers (HCV) from HUD’s Rental Assistance for Non-Elderly Persons with Disabilities Program. These housing assistance vouchers  aid in enabling persons with disabilities to access affordable housing. Barre Housing Authority received 50 and Vermont State Housing Authority received 200.

As a state, Vermont received more vouchers than some other more densely populated states. This shows that Vermont is competitive for federal funding. For instance; Massachusetts received 215 HVC’s , New York received 100,  and Texas received 53.
