WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 2, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Cathedral Square’s Richmond Terrace Senior Living has received Enterprise Green Communities Certification, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to highperformance, healthy homes for low-income seniors.
The Enterprise Green Communities program promotes integrative design, location near services and within neighborhoods, water conservation, energy efficiency, sustainable materials, healthy living environments, and resident engagement.
Richmond Terrace renovations, completed in 2014, focused on all targeted areas with new kitchens and bathrooms, major improvements to the building envelope, insulation and air sealing, new windows and siding, energy efficient air source heat pumps for cooling and heating, a 13KW ground mounted solar array to harness energy from the sun, and a facelift to the community room and hallways.
“Richmond Terrace’s improvements represent our commitment to residents’ health and well-being as well as to the environment,” states Kim Fitzgerald, Cathedral Square’s CEO. “We are proud to announce that Richmond Terrace is the third Cathedral Square property to receive Enterprise Green Communities Certification.”
